Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdelaziz Al Saoud reportedly spent 100 million dollars (85 million euros) on his summer vacation in his favorite place in Tangier, Morocco, according to the Haaretz newspaper.
The 81-year-old leader of Saudi Arabia, whose fortune is estimated at USD 1.38 billion, was welcomed in July by the Moroccan Prime Minister, Saaddeddine El Othmani, to Tangier Airport, Headed for his 74-hectare summer palace, according to local media reported by The Independent.

He traveled with over 1,000 ministers, councilors, family members and security personnel. There were 800 hotel rooms reserved and 200 vehicles, in addition to the King’s cars, and a host of large catering companies.
The king’s opulent holidays are a boon to the economy of this North African country. Salman’s monthly stay amounts to 1.5% of the country’s foreign tourist income, reports our source.

By 2016, about 100 Black Mercedes and Range Rovers were drove in the honour of Salman, his family and his entourage into the city, reported the New York Times. His 74-hectare Moroccan complex includes medical facilities and luxury restaurants.
Extensive renovation work was carried out this year on his property, including the addition of new buildings, heliports and a large tent to accommodate his guests. His Tangier river complex is located near Cap Spartel, above the beaches of Jbilia.
King Salman has properties throughout the world, including several apartments in Paris, a castle on the French Riviera and a palace in Marbella. But his summer refuge in Tangier is considered his favorite.
