Ruto Sacks 2 In Reshuffle

Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto fired two ministers over non-performance on Wednesday in changes he said will ensure service delivery.

The Star reported that Rutto sacked Patricia Lasoi county executive in charge of Lands and Urban Planning and Elizabeth Langat, who was in charge of Public Health and Environment.

“I have relieved Lasoi and Langat of their duties… they will be reassigned new duties,” Rutto told a press briefing, without naming their replacements.

Nominees’ names have to be forwarded to County Assembly for vetting next week. MCAs are on recess until Tuesday.

The move comes a few weeks after Bomet was named among the most corrupt Counties in the country in a report on Citizen news.

The changes are informed by the need to realign service delivery with the pace, impact and scope envisioned in my manifesto, Rutto explained.

There is absolutely no reason for CECs to fail in implementation of projects as finances are availed for the projects on a monthly basis. Moving forward, we are not going to entertain any excuses and laxity among the Executive member, he added.

He denied that the changes were necessitated by the impending impeachment motion sponsored by Kembu MCA Julius Korir.
