Roads closed in Johannesburg for evictions

(JMPD)
Johannesburg – Roads were closed in Berea on Tuesday for evictions in the area, Johannesburg metro police said.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said, “Abel Road and Tudhope Avenue have been closed off to traffic for the eviction of tenants from flats who are occupying these buildings illegally.”

The roads would remain closed until Tuesday night, and were blocked off around 10:30 on Tuesday.

“Motorists will have to use alternative routes. Officials from the city and members of the JMPD will be on the scene over the course of the road closure and evictions.”
