Sources close to the Presidency have revealed the reasons why the President did not grant opposition chief Raila Odinga chance to dialogue over the IEBC stalemate.

Last week the President invited Raila Odinga to Statehouse to chart way forward over the issues pitting the electoral body, but after the meeting the two parties retracted to their usual showdown.

According to Raila Odinga, they had an agreement that each side constitute a five-member team to represent them in talks on how to reconstitute the IEBC.

But on Friday the President, who has been urging CORD to use constitutional means to meet their grievances, dismissed the claims saying that his stance on the issue had not changed.

Reports have however emerged that the President denied dialogue over the IEBC stalemate because he felt CORD was trying to bully and intimidate him.

Further reports indicate that after the last week’s standoff, IEBC officials visited Raila Odinga at his home for talks but he refused because the window for dialogue had already closed down.
