Residents of Ol Jooro Orok constituency in Nyandarua County are up in arms accusing the road county contractor of shoddy work.
The residents lead by Nominated MCA Mr Mwangi Ndirangu faulted the county government for poorly rehabilitated access roads that has consumed millions of Shillings.
The MCA said that roads that were recently done are in pathetic conditions and called on the CEC Member in charge of Roads in the county Kamau Muthanwa o give the status report of the access roads which have been done.
“The quality of the work done is very poor as the roads are wanting. We are asking the County Executive Member in charge of roads to give a status report of the access roads that were recently done,” he said.
Speaking in Ol Jooro Orok Township today, Mr Ndirangu said that residents are paying taxes and hence must be provided with quality and standard work which is equivalent to their money but not doing shoddy work for the purpose of being paid.
Mr Harrison Mbugua a residents at the same time accused the county government of locking out youth and women in the tendering process to carry out certain works in the county as stipulated in the constitution.
Mr Mbugua added that the tendering process that led to the award of the contract for the rehabilitation must be evaluated to ensure quality contractors were picked.
