Rapper Travis Scott Named as a Suspect Following Alleged Assault at NYC Nightclub

Travis Scott, an American rapper, has been listed as a suspect in connection with an alleged assault at a New York City nightclub.

The 30-year-old Astroworld musician is accused of punching a sound engineer and causing $12,000 in damage at the Midtown Manhattan nightclub Nebula early Wednesday morning, March 1.

An NYPD representative verified the incident to Yahoo Entertainment without naming Scott as the suspected suspect, stating that an attack occurred at that area around 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

The NYPD spokesperson said it stemmed from a “verbal dispute” between Scott and a 52-year-old which “escalated into a physical altercation.” The victim was allegedly “punched in the face” and the aggressor “then damaged an audio speaker and video screen causing about $12,000 in equipment damages. The investigation is ongoing.”

NBC News confirmed with NYPD sources that Scott, actual name Jacques Webster, was wanted for allegedly hitting the victim on the left side of the face with a closed fist. Scott then drove away from the West 41st Street club. Officers were called to Nebula around 3:25 a.m. Investigators are studying surveillance video from the club.

Scott is wanted on assault and criminal mischief charges, according to WPIX-TV. The alleged victim told authorities he had no major physical injuries.

Earlier in the evening, Scott appeared as a surprise guest at rapper Don Toliver’s gig at Union Square’s Irving Plaza.
