Kuala Lumpur (dpa) – At least three people are injured when police fire water cannon at demonstrators trying to enter a predominantly Chinese business district in Kuala Lumpur.

Two demonstrators and one policemen suffered bruises and contusions, said a police officer who asked not to be named.

Around 3 000 protesters threw bottles and firecrackers after police stopped them marching through the Petaling Street area.
