Police Recruits Get Shopping From Their MP

Fifteen youths recruited in the recent police recruitment exercise at Jomvu constituency have benefited from shopping by their area Member of Parliament, Badi Twalib.

The 10 men and 5 ladies received mattresses, boxes, shoes and other personal effects from Twalib.

Speaking to the new recruits at Miritini in Mombasa on Tuesday, Badi said the move was meant to encourage them to do their best while under training so they can successfully finish the training and join the Kenya forces.

The legislature however said the number of youths recruited from Jomvu constituency was minimal and should be increased in future so that many jobless youths can secure such jobs.

“We need greater support from the government so that our young educated men can grab such chances and earn a living as well,” added Badi.

The Member of Parliament said that most of the youths not only in Jomvu but the entire Mombasa County are facing various economic challenges, and such chances should directly benefit them.

“However, the youths themselves should come out and fight for these chances so they get jobs and earn a living,” reiterated the legislator.
