PDP Crisis: Governors, Board Of Trustees Meet Sheriff, Makarfi

In order to find a lasting solution to the leadership tussle rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governors on its platform have convened a meeting for Monday in Abuja, reports National Mirror.

The governors with other party stakeholders are to meet with concerned and aggrieved members of the party.

The PDP Board of Trustees, the former Borno State governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff whose national working committee had since been dissolved and the caretaker committee led by former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Makarfi are expected to attend the meeting.

The meeting will hold at Ondo State Governor’s lodge in Abuja, reportsThisday.

Director General of PDP Governors’ Forum, Osaro Onaiwu  who confirmed the meeting, said the agenda of the meeting is to resolve the crisis rocking the party.

He added that a decision would also be taken on the forthcoming Edo State governorship election.

The party has been embroiled in leadership crisis, as the Makarfi-led interim caretaker committee, a creation of the party national convention held in Port Harcourt and Sheriff, whose leadership was dissolved at the convention lay claim to the soul of the  party.
