Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the North East geo-political zone have pleaded with the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, to step down for the disputed Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, reports Leadership.
North-east coördinator of the PDP, PAN CLUB, Hon Muhammed Arabi Bello, who spoke of behalf of other members in zone noted that the tenure of Sheriff and that of the National secretary, National Financial Secretary and National Auditor will expire in 2019.
Bello according to Today enjoined the party supporters and governor’s forum to respect the two court judgement that declared that Sheriff is the only accepted National chairman of the PDP, in Oder to allow peace and unity in the party.
He called on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees and governors of the party to join hands with Sheriff, as the authentic Chairman of the party.
