Factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff on Tuesday night refused to shift ground, as his meeting with the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) reconciliation committee to end the leadership crisis rocking the party over ended in deadlock, reports Daily Trust.
Both parties failed to reach a consensus on most of the contentious issues surrounding the crisis.
The BoT reconciliation committee headed by a former minister of information, Professor Jerry Gana was inaugurated on Monday, reports News 24
Gana and other members of the committee arrived at Sheriff’s office by 7: 45 pm and went into a meeting which ended very late in the night.
Speaking after the unsuccessful meeting, Gana said another meeting would be held between his committee and Sheriff to resolve the crisis.
Sheriff confirmed that all the contentious issues were discussed, stressing that the reconciliation committee members were better informed on the issues during the meeting than before, adding that another meeting would be held to resolve the crisis.
