A Nigerian national with links to the Islamic State has been detained along with an Iraqi man by German officials.
According to a Naij report, the pair were nabbed and detained on Thursday after suspicions arose that they were planning “a serious act of violence”.
Thomas Steinkraus-Koch, state prosecutor in the case, has claimed that information had been provided by security sources proving that the two had links to the deadly terrorist group.
According to police on the case, the suspects were held in Munich and in Fuerstenfeldbruck, adding that there was no imminent threat to public safety.
Although suspicious items have not been found on the pair, police confirmed that investigations into the matter are continuing and have since refused to give any further details on the matter.
