Two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday held parallel state congresses in Owerri, the Imo State capital, reports NewsDay.
While Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie emerged chairman of the Sen. Modu Sheriff faction, Chief Ezekwem emerged for the Ahmed Makarfi group.
With the development, indications are rife that the leadership crisis rocking the PDP, particularly in Imo State, is far from being over soonest.
While the senator for Imo West (Orlu Zone) Hope Uzodimma and a former governor of the State, Ikedi Ohakim held their congress at the state PDP Secretariat along Okigwe Road, the Hon. Emeka Ihedioha group conducted theirs at the Kanu Nwankwo Football Academy behind IMSU, premises.
