Nigeria: Snake Bites Kills 27 In Taraba State

Taraba residents have been thrown into a panic after reports surfaced indicating that 27 people had been killed by snake bites throughout the state.

According to a Naij report, Suntai Ward Councillor Filibuster Sambo confirmed the reports, assuring residents that measures are currently being put in place to aid those who still remain in hospital as a result of the bites.

Both traditional and anti-snake bite medicines have proven futile in the fight against death, with authorities having been urged to treat the scourge of snake bites facing the community with utmost urgency.

Medical personnel attending to those in need have raised the alarm on the situation, stating that more deaths should be expected if preventative measures are not put in place as soon as possible, The Guardian reports.
