The Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters went out the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution, Okoi Obono-Oblo in the forgery trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
The committee also angrily noted the failure of the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Mulami, to appear was not only a slap in the face of the Senate but also insulting.
The AGF for the second time failed to appear before the Senate to explain the reasons behind charging Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu for the alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Order.
News24 Nigeria reported that Deputy Senator, Ike Ekweremadu sensationally called for international intervention from the US Congress, United Kingdom, United Nations, European Union Parliament and foreign missions in his forgery trial.
Ekweremadu in his pleas for help has said that Nigeria as a democracy is in grave danger.
