Following the epileptic power supply witnessed in the country recently, President Muhammadu Buhari has said he will go after pipeline vandals and power infrastructure saboteurs and bring them to book.
Buhari issued the threat on Sunday through the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed.
Mohammed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Segun Adeyemi, warned that the Federal Government would deal ruthlessly with those engaged in pipeline vandalism and the sabotage of power infrastructure in the country.
He noted that the repeated attacks on oil and gas pipelines and wilful shutdown of power facilities by protesters amount to economic sabotage.
Mohammed said the government was aware that as it steps up the fight against corruption, corruption will vigorously fight back in many forms, including the destruction/sabotage of key national infrastructure to make the government look bad.
