Nigeria: House Speaker Yakubu Dogara mourns late educationist Hamza

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has condoled with Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, over the death of his foster father Yahaya Hamza.

Dogara prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

He said the late Hamza played key role in the training and upbringing of El-Rufai as described in his famous autobiography, “The Accidental Public Servant.”

Dogara regretted that Hamza’s demise came at a time when El-Rufai needed his fatherly counsel and guidance as he steered the affairs of Kaduna State.

The Speaker extolled the virtues of the late Hamza, whom he described as a foremost educationist and renowned technocrat.

He said his contribution to the educational development of Nigeria would not be forgotten.

Hamza died in Kaduna after a brief illness. Born in 1935, he had a distinguished career in public service.
