Femi Gbajabiamila, the Majority Leader of the Federal House of Representatives has berated Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State over the role the governor played in the emergence of Yakubu Dogara as Speaker of the House, reports NewsDay.
Gbajabiamila contested the speakership seat with Dogara.
Gbajabiamila said he felt betrayed over the reasons Tambuwal adduced for supporting Dogora
Tambuwal, the immediate past Speaker of the House, had during a thank you visit by leaders of Sayawa Community of Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas of Bauchi State, said the issue of competence led to his endorsement of Dogara to succeed him.
Tambuwal had initially said he had a strong affinity for Gbajabiamila, but endorsed Dogara due to his proven competence as Chairman of House services committee.
Speaking on Wednesday in Lagos, Gbajabiamila said he felt disappointed with Tambuwal’s statement
He added that he singlehandedly pushed for the emergence of Tambuwal as the Speaker in 201.
He revealed that he is not on speaking terms with Tambuwal since the election of principal officers in House was held on June 9.
