The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Andrew Yakubu, a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), reports Premium Times.
The commission has also rearrested oil magnate, Jide Omokore.
Both are likely to be arraigned in court on Monday.
The duo would be charged before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja on a four-count charge of money laundering.
Other defendants in the case are Victor Briggs, Abiye Memnere, David Mbanefo, Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited and Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Limited.
The commission had earlier frozen Omokaore’s assets according to News 24
Aluko and another businessman, Kola Aluko are being accused of benefiting from some shady transactions with the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
