There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari has received report of those that benefitted from the misappropriation of the $2.1 billion meant for arms.

The former national security adviser has been in detention since 2015 after he was accused of disbursing money meant for the purchase of arms to fight Boko Haram for unrelated things.

The Punch reports that former Nigerian leaders, traditional and religious leaders from across the country were implicated in the reports which President Buhari received on Thursday, October 27.

The reports submitted to the president suggested the prosecution of some people and the retrieval of money from others.

According to a highly-placed security source, a top monarch in the north received money from Dasuki for his coronation while some former heads of state also got money for medical bills as well as travel expenses.

The office of the national security adviser shouldered the cost of the medical trips of one of the ex-heads of state to Germany.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday said it was impossible for the National Security Adviser (NSA) during his administration, Sambo Dasuki, to have stolen $2.2 billion as claimed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) according to News24.

Dasuki, who has been in detention since December 1, 2015, was arrested by the State Security Service for allegedly misappropriating $2.2 billion meant to purchase equipment for the Nigerian military in its battle against the terrorist Boko Haram group.

Jonathan, who spoke at the famous Oxford Union, Oxford United Kingdom, on youth entrepreneurship, argued that it was “not just possible” for Dasuki to have stolen $2.2 billion after his administration procured several equipment for the country’s military.
