President Muhammadu Buhari is set to get the full details of the 2016 budget before the end of this week, a member of the House of Representatives, Taofeek Adaranijo has said.
This comes a few days after Buhari refused to sign the Budget Appropriation Bill into law, after the National Assembly failed to send the full details of the N6.06tn harmonised budget.
Buhari said he won’t sign the budget under pressure.
“Some bureaucrats removed what we put in the proposal and replaced them with what they wanted. I have to look at the bill that has been passed by the National Assembly, ministry by ministry, to be sure that what has been brought back for me to sign is in line with our original submission,” Buhari was quoted as saying last week.
However according to Punch, Adaranijo said the Senate and House of Representatives’ committees on the appropriation had been working to ensure that the president got the full details before the end of the week.
