Scandal surrounding the 2016 National Budget may not see its end anytime soon, as reports have indicated that two versions of the fiscal document have been released by the Federal Government.
According to a Naij report, concerns voice by Nigerian citizens finally led to the full version of the “final amended” document being uploaded onto the budget office’s website.
A ministry-by-ministry budget was then also uploaded, complete with discrepancies in the budget set aside for the Ministry of Solid Materials.
According to a comparison between the two documents, the full budget contains a N795.2 million allocation for an upgrade to the Ministry’s website alongside a N49.7 million allocation set for software upgrades.
In the ministry-by-ministry version of the document, however, the N795.2 million allocation was missing, while just the N49.7 million allocation remained.
According to the fiscal document, the Federal Government is still set to spend N340 million on the purchasing of BMW cars, while N500 billion has been set aside for vulnerable Nigerians, The Cable reports.
