A Nakuru woman is facing criminal charges at a Nakuru court for allegedly faking a disease to solicit for donations from members of the public.

According to court records 43 year old Susan Wangare is accused of having forged hospital documents which showed that she was suffering from ovarian cancer and needed huge amounts of money for treatment abroad.

Police arrested Wangari after they were tipped off by members of the public who questioned her alleged sickness.

When arrested Wangare, failed to produce any medical documentation to prove that she was indeed diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

According to Njoro residents Wangare has been faking her cancer sickness for the past three years and is believed to have received a handsome amount of money from the locals.

When she appeared before Nakuru Chief Magistrate Bernard Kemei on Thursday, Wangari, pleaded not guilty to the charge and released on a bond of KES 500,000 or a cash bail of KES.300,000.
