An MP was locked out of the Jubilee Coalition IEBC dialogue team despite lobbying heavily to be a part of the unit.
Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu was not considered for the team despite lobbying to as high as President Uhuru Kenyatta to be included in the talks team.
With Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria already in the team, it was felt that the inclusion of the self proclaimed ‘baba yao’ would give out the wrong message to Kenyans.
” The inclusion of both Kuria and Waitutu whose reputations are well known would have been viewed as a bad tactic from the Jubilee side by Kenyans,” a source with links to the Jubilee think tank told News24.
Both are well known hardliners and are not new to controversy so their inclusion would have raised questions.
They have both been in the bad books of the law over ethnic comments in the past and are known to loath CORD leader Raila Odinga.
Kuria will thus provide the steel needed by Jubilee in the talks.
The team will be lead by Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi.
Others in the team include Kipchumba Murkomen, Beatrice Elachi, Fatuma Dullo, Cecile Mbarire, Naomi Shaaban, Moses Kuria, Jimmy Angweyi, Jomo Ben Washiali, Eng. Mohammed Mahmoud and Soipan Tuya.
