Kenya: Minor Arraigned For Stealing KFS Ranger Rifle, Mobile Phone

A minor was on Tuesday arraigned in a Molo court for allegedly stealing a rifle from a Kenya Forest Service (KFS) police officer in Londiani.

The 16-year-old Haron Kahiga Maina was charged with 2 counts of theft.

He was accused of breaking into a house of one a KFS ranger and stealing the rifle on September 2 at Malakati forest post in Londiani forest.

The mark 4 rifle was loaded with 5 rounds of ammunition, valued at KES 50,325 property of Kenya Forest Service.

The second charge read that on the same day, the accused at Malakati forest post in Londiani stole a mobile phone valued at KES 6,400 property of the forest ranger.

The minor is in custody at the Londiani police station pending the determination of his case since he is underage.
