Othaya MP, Mary Wambui on Tuesday mourn at a press rundown in Parliament complying with information of the former firstlady, Lucy Kibaki’s death.
Wambui, who has controversially been linked to former President Kibaki as his second wife was Tuesday inconsolable during the entire press briefing by Nyeri County MPs at parliaments media centre and kept wiping away tears from her eyes.
She did not speak to journalists at the press briefing that was attended by Nyeri County MPs who included Esther Murugi Nyeri Town MP), Kanini Kega (Kieni) Priscilla Nyokabi (County MP) and James Gethenji (Tetu).
They eulogized the former first lady as a great leader and condoled with the family of retired President Kibaki who comes from the County.
Ms Wambui came to national prominence after the late wife of the former President forced him in March 2009 to publicly disown her at a rare press conference at the lawns of State House, following reports that she was Kibaki’s second wife.
Kibaki, with Lucy standing behind her with a stern look, was compelled to set the record straight and told the world that he only had one wife and four children.
“I want to make it very clear that I have only one dear wife Lucy, and I do not have any other. And anybody who knows me and knows my family and knows how I live will know that I have only one wife. And they do not expect any diversion from the reality of life by people telling lies,” said Kibaki,
