Man Arrested For Stealing Identity Of Inspector General Of Police Boinett

A prison warder who has been impersonating the Inspector General of police on Facebook has been arrested in Kisumu.

The Star reported that Bevil Ogeda Ouko, attached to Kibos Main Prison, was also found with phone registered as Joseph K. Boinnet.

He had also opened a ‘fake Facebook account’ pretending to be the IG.

“Bevil is the holder of ID number 23608256 and has been using cell phone number0722919125 registered as Joseph K. Boinnet for the illegal activities. He has also been using an alternative number, 0721488589,” a statement from police headquarters said.

Capital News reported that the officer was arrested while on paternity leave.

“The suspect has been creating senior government officials’ false Facebook accounts instead of correcting and reforming convicts. He has been assisting them in planning robberies from therein and usually leaves the phones with a robbery convict known as Davy whenever he is out of the institution,” the statement read.

Ouko would even engage his gullible followers on why CORD protests were illegal.

The account has been deactivated.
