Man Arrested For Murder Of Wife

A man has been arrested for the murder of his wife after which he set his son alight.

According to Standard Media Moses Keitany hit his wife several times with a metallic object.

He then locked his 7-year old son in the house, doused him with kerosene and attempted to set him ablaze. However the little boy was rescued by neighbours who heard him calling out.

The little boy is receiving treatment at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital after suffering 70% burns.

According to neighbours it was known that the couple had problems therefore despite being sad about the murder they are not too shocked.

Forensic psychologist Dr. Oscar Githua said that passion crimes happen when channels of communication between couples fail and the inability to handle conflict in relationships.

He said that passion crimes are more prevalent with men because of lack of communication skills resulting in physical fights.
