The Narok County Government has ordered the closure of 10 camps at the Maasai Mara national reserve.
The directive to close down the camps came following a security operation on Monday, but no reasons were given.
Those affected include: Ashnil, Entim, Matira, Naibor, Rekero, Alex Walker, Hammerkop, Enkerede, Mara Crossing and Mara Eden Safari camp.
Communication from the County Security office also confirmed that two balloon safaris were also closed in the operation.
In a letter addressed to the Park Chief Warden, the County Government said: “You have to been ordered to ensure that the above facilities are never opened unless there is a lawful command to do so, failure to which you and your sectors commanders will be taken to have refused to obey clear and lawful orders given by your superiors.”
