One man has lost his life while another has been left seriously injured following an auto crash along the Otedola Bridge area of Lagos State.
According to a Punch report, Oluwole Giwa was welcoming his brother, a returnee from the United Kingdom, home when a 40-foot trailer lost its brakes and plunged into no less than 10 vehicles along the bridge.
The affected vehicles were said to have been waiting in a queue to receive fuel when the incident took place.
Officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) have since revealed that the deceased had to be removed from the wreckage with a saw.
Giwa’s brother, who was not identified, is said to have been treated at the accident scene before being transported to a nearby facility.
Michael Akindele, General Manager of the LASEMA, has confirmed the incident and warned motorists to drive cautiously and adhere to safety precautions in order to decrease fatalities on the country’s roads.
