Durban – Two teenage girls were seriously injured when they were hit by a bus while walking to school on Old Main Road in Pinetown on Tuesday morning.ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said the girls, both believed to be 17-years-old, were found lying at the roadside.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the girls lying on the left hand side of a construction site between a truck and the bus.
“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that they sustained moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to Life Crompton Hospital for further medical care,” she said.
Bodasing added that the cause of the accident was not yet clear.
The area where the girls were hit by the bus is a high congestion pedestrian zone with several schools in the immediate vicinity.
