According to reports, Khloe Kardashian has been sued by a former home aide who alleges he was fired after returning from a leave of absence to recover from a leg injury.
According to the lawsuit acquired by TMZ, the former assistant, Matthew Manhard, claimed in his lawsuit that he began working for Khloe in 2019 until being fired in November 2022.
Manhard alleges he informed Khloe, 38, that he was unable to work due to a knee ailment sustained in May 2022. Manhard claims that when he attempted to return to work in November, he was instead fired.
Manhard further claimed that during his work, he was frequently so preoccupied on completing duties for Khloe that he was unable to take the legally needed breaks.
This lawsuit comes only days after it was revealed that Khloe’s fashion business, Good American, was being sued as well.
Manhard also claimed she skirted paying him overtime despite him routinely working 12-hour days.
Khloe’s staff has responded by denying Manhard’s claims.
‘It’s terrible that a former employee would chose to go this path. Khloe’s legal attorney informed TMZ that Matthew was legally classified and rewarded for his role.
Addressing the leave of absence Manhard took, the rep said: ‘Toward the end of his employment, he was on a leave of absence for an extended period of time and the role eventually needed to be replaced. We will not tolerate false accusations and will prove that this is a frivolous lawsuit.’
Manhard is seeking monetary compensation from Khloe and alleges she violated numerous California labor laws.
