Kenya: Jubilee Senator ARRESTED After Gun Drama At Shell Petrol Station

Police have at long last arrested Jubilee Party Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge Ben.The senator on Tuesday, February 7, had been included in a weapon show after he went up against Shell/Vivo Managing Director Polycarp Igathe at Shell Petrol Station close Karai mall along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway.

Igathe and his group had arrived at the petrol station possessed by the representative to recoup their organization resources.

 Igathe said the petrol station branded under Shell had been out of stock for weeks and had no working capital.

The senator had shot twice at Shell/Vivo Managing Director Polycarp Igathe who had been trying to recover the company’s assets at the petrol station owned by the Njoroge.

The senator is said to have been incensed when the Shell workers started to remove the logo from the petrol station.

It was then that Njoroge removed his pistol and fired twice above Igathe sending him and some of the workers fleeing.

The senator had shot twice at Shell/Vivo Managing Director Polycarp Igathe who had been trying to recover the company’s assets at the petrol station owned by the Njoroge.

Igathe later recorded a statement with the police over the gun incident.

 The senator was later arrested by police officers who interrogated him before anti-riot police officers arrived at the petrol station to guard it.

Njoroge was later taken to Naivasha Police Station for more questioning.

Njoroge’s civilian firearm certificate no. 001056 was confiscated by Naivasha DCI boss, Njoroge SP.

The senator will be charged for misuse of a firearm on Wednesday morning, February 8.

Njoroge’s pistol, serial no. B766367 has been taken for ballistic examination.

According to the Daily Nation, the senator denied he was arrested instead said he had only gone to the police station to write a statement.

“I have not been arrested. I am going to record a statement at the police station,” Njoroge said.

The senator accused his business rivals for the messy situation at the petrol station whom he accused of planning to take it away from him.

 “It is a rivalry that has lasted for a while and I have managed to obtain a court order to the effect,” he said.
