A Jubilee Party linked Governor has quit the ruling Party for a return to Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress.
Issa Timamy the Lamu Governor says that he has joined the ANC after protracted talks saw him heavily linked to the Jubilee Party.
Timamy says that he has no intention of joining Jubilee and that he is ready to work with the government, when they feel ready to do so.
” I am not joining the Jubilee Party. However, I keep the plea to the government to seek ties to develop Lamu,” he told News24 on phone from Lamu.
Timamy says that Mudavadi is a great mentor for Kenyans and he has decided to hang on and support him ahead of the 2017 polls.
” Mudavadi has shown that he is ready to serve Kenyans in whatever capacity and that is a good way to lead,” he added.
Mudavadi is seeking election as President come the 2017 polls.
