Kenya: Four Ethiopian Sentenced In Mombasa For Being Illegally In The Country

Mombasa court on Friday convicted four  Ethiopian citizens for being in country illegally.

Gibra Gabero,Gazain Gargino,Zagei Demaga and Adimo Hailemarain were sentenced one year in prison or pay a fine of Ksh.100,000 before escoreted back to Ethiopia.

Four were sentenced after they plead guilty of the offence charged before Mombasa Principal Magistrate Henry Nyakweba.

Court heard that accused were arrested on 29th June at Likoni ferry in Mombasa crossing to Mombasa Island.

Police officers from Inuka police station arrested the accused persons after they received information from public.

They failed to produce passport or any document upon police request.

“Accused were illegally in the country, none has given reason must be punished”, ruled Nyakweba.

The accused have two weeks to appeal court ruling.
