Nairobi – National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale has dismissed allegations linking him to the KES 791 National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
Waiguru in affidavit filed on Tuesday alleged that the top Jubilee leader tried to intimidate NYS Deputy boss, Aden Halakhe.
“… on June 8, 2015, Mr Halakhe was texted and called by Mr Aden Duale who advised him that he required political support and that leaders from his region came from URP. Mr Duale warned that he needed to be careful lest he is used and dumped by the other side of the coalition,” reads the affidavit by Waiguru in part.
But speaking to News24, Duale denied the allegations and challenged Waiguru to give evidence.
‘I am as white as snow. The former CS should table her evidence if she has any,” said the Garissa Township MP.
“I have never done any business with NYS. Now that Waiguru is sinking, she is trying to drag down other people in her mess. She should carry her own cross,” explained Duale.
Other prominent people mentioned in the explosive affidavit which was rejoinder to an earlier one filed by Josephine Kabura, former Waiguru’s hairdresser, include vocal Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Deputy President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet.
Waiguru claims that the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator tried to threaten with unspecified consequences if she did not stop investigations over the scam.
In the sworn affidavit, Kibet is linked closely to businessman Ben Gethi who is already facing charges over the scam.
