ODM leader Raila Odinga has held a crisis meeting to save the orange party from collapse.
The the party Central Committee held a crisis meeting in a Nairobi Hotel bid to salvage its reputation in the wake of increased rebellion within its ranks.
The meeting charted the way forward as the party deals with the issues at hand dealt on three aspects.
First was on how to stop the damage already caused by the rebellious MPs from spreading.
Second was on how to make sure that those marginalised are taken care of and brought safely back into the party.
Lastly, was on how to make sure that the party is back on track in the shortest time possible.
” The meeting was successful and many things were discussed,” a source told News24.
The meeting came amidst fears leaders from Kisii are also on their way out of the party, with Senator Chris Obure leading the expected walkout.
Furthermore, there has also been the serious rebellion in western Kenya and the Coast.
It is understood further that party leader Odinga is weighing a number of options to beat the ruling Jubilee Coalition, including supporting someone else for the Presidency.
” There are considerations all the time. This is politics,” the source added.
Raila plans to tour western region next week amid a crisis created by the resignation of senior leaders from the party.
There will be tours of the of western Kenya soon, the source added.
