ODM chairman John Mbadi says that Namwamba has yet to hand in his resignation letter as he is afraid of losing his seat come the 2017 polls.
Namwamba has already quit as ODM Secretary and has stated that he will leave the Orange party for a new destination ahead of the 2017 polls.
But he will need to defend his Budalang’i constituency seat on a new platform and according to Mbadi, he is afraid of losing his seat.
“We know why Ababu is afraid of leaving ODM. He knows he will never win his seat outside ODM and he can take it to the bank,” he said.
He asked the MP to state his stand once and for all instead of trying to cause upheaval inside ODM.
“We are a national party that is not founded on individuals but strong values that supersede personal interests, which are being propagated by Ababu,” he added.
Ababu has threatened to leave the party which has sponsored him for two terms in Parliament for a supposed third force, which he says will unite Luhyas.
