KANU has threatened to boycott the 2017 general elections if the current IEBC commissioners stay put in office.
KANU secretary general Nick Salat said that the party will join CORD and opposition parties in boycotting the polls in protest against IEBC.
Salat said that KANU has suffered the effects of a biased IEBC and bungled polls and will not allow IEBC to referee the 2017 polls.
“As KANU we have tested the biasness of IEBC in Kericho and we know what we are talking about and that is why we want them to quit,”said Salat.
“If they stay put then KANU will not be part of the 2017 polls,”he added.
He added that IEBC cannot oversee a free and fair election because it is favouring the government that is protecting it.
“How can we trust IEBC to be neutral when it is favouring one side of the divide ,?”he posed.
Salat accused President Kenyatta’s advisers of misleading and misadvising him on the IEBC crisis.
