I’m Weak But Resolved, Says Zambia’s Lungu

Zambian President Edgar Lungu has claimed that he is a “weak leader” but “very resolved”.

According to The Post, Lungu said this while addressing Zambians living in Italy.

Lungu is in Italy for a meeting with the Vatican.

Lungu said he would not be re-opening the top two public universities that were shut downlast week after students went on the rampage protesting at non-payment of food and book allowances.

“I think it’s a height of irresponsibility on the part of those who are privileged to be in schools or high institutes of learning to take advantage of the so called freedom to express opinion or freedom to demonstrate,” Lungu said.

According to reports, University of Zambia students burnt tyres and used logs to barricade the main road leading from the airport into the capital city Lusaka.
