I’m Not Responsible For PF’s Declining Support, Scott Tells Lungu

– Former Zambian president Guy Scott has reportedly said that he cannot be held responsible for the Patriotic Front’s waning political support.

According to The Post, Scott said that the ruling party started sinking after the death of its founder, Michael Sata in 2014.

Scott said President Edgar Lungu and his team had no capacity to formulate a formidable manifesto for the PF, and that it was foolish for him (Lungu) to boast about Sata’s achievements.

Scott reportedly left the PF early this year to join the UPND. His departure was described by PF’s central committee member, Paul Mongo as “good riddance”, according to Lusaka Times.

Lungu in May said he would “annihilate the gang led by Scott during the elections”,All Africa said.

Lungu claimed that Scott had never supported him since he ascended to power and had learnt to ignore him.
