Suspected armed robbers in Akwa Ibom have allegedly killed a police corporal, Cletus Ekpo, who is attached to the Transition Committee Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area in the state, Punch reported.
The armed men fired bullets at Cletus and his driver but the elderly man died instantly after sustaining fatal injuries.
According to reports, Cletus is said to have returned from the bank with his team, where he had been collecting money.
The armed men left the scene without taking any of the money.
The driver is said to be treated in hospital for his injuries.
