Barcelona’s miraculous Champions League comeback against Paris Saint -Germain last season has forced a French mayor to eat a giant rodent after his bet went horribly wrong.
In the first leg of their last 16 encounter, PSG thrashed Barca 4 – 0, Charles Dayot, the Mayor of Mont-de-Marsan in the southwestern France took to Facebook to put a mortgage on the French team progressing to the next stage in the Champions League.
The French mayor announced that he was going to eat a rat, a bet which fired back at him as Barcelona went ahead to win the match 6 – 1 and 6 – 5 on aggregate to dump PSG out of the competition.
Dayot was left with no choice other than to swallow his pride, as he came out this week to eat a cooked rodent in public as people cheered on him.
