Four people are alleged to have been killed following a clash between two rival cultist groups in Benin, Edo State.
According to Punch, the incident occurred on Sunday evening when an argument ensued between two members from different gangs at a bar in the state capital.
One of the men is alleged to have been taken to hospital due to an injury sustained during the altercation, following which his colleagues went on a revenge mission and killed three members of the opposition in different locations within the area.
Osifo Abiodun, PR Officer for the State Police, has confirmed the development, saying the number of casualties had yet to be ascertained.
“We are very sure that before the end of tomorrow (Tuesday) we will be able to arrest those that have been fingered in the action,” Abiodun was reported as saying by The Nation.
