Driver of a car that was involved in a road accident where two people perished along Nyeri-Nyahururu road committed suicide after leaving the scene of accident.
Peter Muchiri, 68, who is a former teacher and education officer in Kieni West, hanged himself shortly after the accident.
He collided head-on with a motorcycle, killing the rider and his one passenger.
Area OCPD John Kemboi said they were investigating the accident when they received reports that Muchiri had already committed suicide in his house and rushed at the scene to confirm.
The traffic police towed the vehicle, a Toyota Platz and the motorcycle to Mweiga Police Station.
Police said the deceased left the scene of accident secretly only to be found dead moments later.
