Delighted Mikel Obi Returns To Chelsea After Rio Olympics

Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel has returned to Chelsea after leading his country to third place finish in the men’s football event at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Mikel provided all the assists that gave the Dream Team a 3-0 lead before Honduras cancelled two to end the tie 3-2 in favour of the Africans.

“Thank you to all the players, staff and fans for making this dream come true?? ???? now back to Premier League #CFC.

“To lead this team to an Olympic medal, and make Nigerians proud – this is why I play football ? #DreamTeam.” He wrote on twitter on Monday.

Mikel, who missed Chelsea’s first two games (wins), is now set to make his first appearance under new manager Antonio Conte in their next game against Burnley FC.

News24 reported that the Ministry of Youth and Sports refunded to Mikel the $4,600 he paid for the team in São Paulo on their way to Salvador.
