Damson Idris is being touted as a possible replacement for Daniel Craig as James Bond. Recent wagers have placed the 31-year-old actor as the second-favorite for the legendary role, trailing only Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Idris Elba, who was previously considered for the part of James Bond, has said that he now feels too old for the position. He stated that he used to have chats with Barbara Broccoli, but that he now believes that others are more deserving of the character of 007 than he is. On a happier note, because the rights holders passed up the chance to screencast Idris Elba, Damson Idris should be an ideal replacement for the actor mistaken for his brother.
Damson Idris has been in minor roles in shows such as Black Mirror and Swarm, and he presently plays as Franklin Saint in the FX Channel drama series Snowfall.
Other actors rumored to be the new Bond include James Norton, Richard Madden, and Tom Hardy. According to the Mail, Broccoli, who owns the rights to the character through her firm Eon Productions, has stated that she will take her time in selecting the next Bond and wants to take the character in a new direction after Daniel Craig’s successful tenure.
