Abuja – Nine lives been lost as a result of a crash involving a Mazda bus and a stationary truck.
The crash, which took place along the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State, saw three additional people seriously injured as the bus driver fled the scene.
An angry mob is said to have converged at the scene following the crash, razing the truck and injuring an official from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

“People were not willing to stop their vehicles to assist the victims. I met some policemen on the ground. We used my spanner to break open the door. But the passengers were trapped. We wanted to use my vehicle to pull the bus from the truck, but we couldn’t. We later stopped another truck, which assisted us,” said Kunmi, a witness at the crash site.
Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the number of fatalities involved in the accident, with an official from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) claiming that eight people died in the crash.
Another official from LASEMA has since claimed that only five lives were lost as a result of the collision.
DSP Dolapo Badmos, PR Officer for the State Police, has confirmed the incident while claiming that invetsigations into the matetr are currently underway.
