According to some Jubilee Coalition members, 4 people are the ones stopping potential IEBC talks.
The four, who the opposition CORD coalition says are to blame for the lack of talks to solve the IEBC stalemate are close to Deputy President William Ruto and are the ones haggling the most for the IEBC to remain in its current state.
According to some Jubilee Coalition members who requested not to be named, the four have been discouraging President Uhuru Kenyatta from holding the talks with the opposition despite the President being open to seeking a solution over the matter.
” The four have been stopping talks from taking place. They know that the IEBC is dispensable but they don’t want to see change,” the MP from the Rift Valley said.
The persons named by the MP are Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale, Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and Energy CS Charles Keter.
The MP further says that the larger Jubilee family sees a compromise to help ease tension ahead of the 2017 polls but that the above named are killing that spirit.
The naming of the four comes just a week after some Jubilee MPs from the Rift Valley accused the DP of causing the stalemate in the IEBC issue.
Nandi Hills Mp Alfred Keter said that the impasse was caused by the Jubilee administration listening too much to the DP instead of looking at the bigger picture which is to unify Kenya.
