Kisumu County police commander, Nelson Njiri has been promoted just a week after the deadly CORD demos in the area.
Njiri has been promoted to General Manager in charge of security at the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), The Star reports.
He replaces Eric Kiraithe who was made the Government spokesman in March.
His promotion has raised controversy as it comes only a week after a CORD supporter was shot dead during the Monday anti-IEBC protests.
However, reports indicate that the changes were made before the deadly CORD protests
Njiri has been replaced by the Mwea East OCPD Titus Yoma, who will be succeeded by the Athi River OCPD Kizito Mutoro.
Sharma Boy has been appointed the new Athi River boss.
